American’s ‘game changer’ jacket potato recipe leaves Britons in hysterics over blunder
American food creator Jen Curely left Brits laughing when she called a jacket potato by a strange name.
She was showing her TikTok followers how to prepare the classic British dish, but instead of calling it a “jacket potato”, she said “potato jacket”. This left her followers in fits of laughter.
She funnily wrote in her video: “You’ve seen a jacket potato but have you seen a potato jacket.”
The clip from @snackqween got loads of likes and comments online.
“I’ve been on potato jacket TikTok for a minute now and what I’ve learned is you can definitely put anything you want into it, kinda like we do with baked poptoes here in the States,” said the TikToker.

Lots of folks praised the TikToker for her clever cooking tip, swapping her microwave for an air fryer.
She cooked it at 400 Farenheit for 30 minutes then topped it “British-style” with shredded cheese, baked beans, and diced onions.
A person commented: “Why did i not ever think to put my potatoes in the air fryer?! They take an hour in the oven so i always give up on making them!”
Another added: “Definitely a game changer! Air fryer is so helpful!”
