How to store bread for three to six months – clever storage hack stops mould

You can freeze your bread and have it last for up to three to six months, says a TikToker, who goes by LifeWithKatieDonnelly. Katie shared how she freezes her bread, as well as how she uses her bread after freezing it.

How to freeze your bread

“I freeze my bread if I want it to last longer. I’ve done this with homemade bread to storebought bread,” Katie expressed in a video uploaded to TikTok.

She shared that she and her family went on a small trip and she decided to freeze half a loaf of bread while they were away for a week, but noted that you can freeze the bread for up to three to six months.

Katie said that you can place a paper towel in the bottom of the bag to collect extra moisture if you want to, though she doesn’t do this.

How to use bread after freezing it

After getting back from her week-long trip, Katie said she made toast with the frozen bread, popping it right into the toaster after it was frozen.

It only took a couple of hours to thaw the rest of the bread so that she could use it for sandwiches for the rest of the week.
