Lidl, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s pull popular foods off the shelves

AB World Foods has recalled a popular condiment after announcing there could be a possibility it contains glass.

The supplier recalled Patak’s Aubergine Pickle, which is sold at Waitrose and Sainsbury’s.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) cautioned: “The possible presence of glass makes this product unsafe to eat. The affected product has only been sold in Waitrose and Sainsbury’s.”

AB World Foods said: “The decision has been taken out of an abundance of caution and is linked to the very low risk of a possible presence of glass. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

People who have the condiment at home are encouraged to return the following batch to their nearest Sainsbury’s or Waitrose.
