Pakistan’s Troubles Increased In Perth Test, Two Wickets Fell For 132 Runs

AUS vs PAK, 1st Test Match: The Pakistan team is currently on an Australian tour to play a three-match test series. The first match of the three-match Test series is being played at Perth Stadium. The Pakistan team is being led by Shan Masood, while the responsibility of the Australian team is in the hands of ODI World Cup 2023 winner captain Pat Cummins.

In the first Test match being played at Perth Stadium, Australian captain Cummins won the toss and chose to bat first. While batting first, the Kangaroo team batted 113.2 overs and scored 487 runs at a loss of 10 wickets. On behalf of the team, opener batsman David Warner scored the most runs. He scored 164 runs on 211 balls with the help of 16 fours and four sixes.

Mitchell Marsh was the second-highest run scorer on the team; he scored 90 runs in just 107 balls with the help of 15 fours and one six. Apart from these two, Khawaja scored 41, Labuschagne scored 16, Steven Smith scored 31, Travis Head scored 40, and Alex Carey scored 34 runs.

In bowling action, Aamer Jamal, who was playing his first Test match for Pakistan, took the maximum of six wickets. Jamal took six wickets for 111 runs in a spell of 20.2 overs. Khurram Shahzad got two wickets, while Shaheen Afridi and Faheem Ashraf got one wicket each.

Chasing the Australian team’s 487 runs in the first innings, the Pakistan team has scored 132 runs at the loss of only two wickets in 53 overs by the end of the second day’s play. Imam-ul-Haq is present at the crease after scoring 38 runs in 136 balls, and night watchman batsman Khurram Shahzad has scored seven runs.

The Pakistan team is still 355 runs behind the first-inning score of the Australian team. If Pakistan has to chase this lead, then one of the batsmen will need to play a long innings. In such a situation, all eyes will be on experienced batsman Babar Azam.
