The UK’s top 100 local restaurants revealed – check your area in full list | UK | News

The UK is packed with spectacular restaurants that offer an abundance of food options from different cuisines around the world. While a fancy dinner in town is something that plenty of people look forward to, for the majority, nothing beats a trip to their favourite local restaurant, where no matter how many times you visit, you constantly find yourself back enjoying the same food.

Local restaurants become favourites not just because of the great food, but they are often central to the neighbourhood, bringing charm and communities together. Now, out of 60,000 nominations, Britain’s top 100 local restaurants have been selected, and yours could very much be on that list.

The Good Food Guide labelled the food spots as “the most compelling, confident, community-focused, bistros and wine bars” across the nation. Along with the incredible menus and vibrant character, many of the restaurants also boast decent prices. According to the guide, “a hearty lunch with a good glass of wine will set you back just £15 at many of [the] winners, offering extraordinary value for money”.

Out of the 100 restaurants, a buzzy spot that serves Malaysian food won first place. Lucky Lychee located in a neighbourhood pub in Winchester, Hampshire is run by husband-and-wife duo, James Harris, and Nicole Yeoh.

Refecting of their win, James and Nicole, said: “We’re absolutely blown away to win the Good Food Guide’s Best Local Restaurant of 2025. We asked our customers to nominate us as a long shot and we were amazed to get on the list and then absolutely speechless to be awarded the first spot on that list.”

Diners can expect fresh comfort food made that is made from local produce. Dishes are full of vibrant flavours and aromatic spices, that can be enjoyed with a glass of wine from a list of 30 bottles or exciting cocktails that are made to order.

Lucky Lychee might be a little far for some, so check if your local restaurant also made the list of Britain’s best.
